Introduction

 Web 2.0 tools are widely recognized as valuable tools for enhancing researching, teaching, and learning and for professional development. Web 2.0 technologies are revolutionizing the way in which we study, research or engage in different research fields.

 

Workshop Description

This hands-on workshop will introduce English language teachers in Sudan to Web 2.0 tools and technologies for professional development. Teachers will explore Web 2.0 technologies and learn interactively about; collaborative learning, social bookmarking, tagging, Google applications, online offices and social networking.

Participants will learn how to use these tools creatively to enhance their skills as teachers and researchers. Teachers will be engaged through practical applications for all the tools introduced. 

  

Objectives: 

 At the end of the workshop, English language teachers will be introduced to different online tools that help in developing them professionally as teachers and researchers. The workshop aims to:

  •  introduce teachers to online tools for professional development;
  • build an online community of practice that will continue after the workshop in learning, sharing, interacting and networking with teachers in Sudan and in other parts of the world.

Prerequisites
